About Me

Welcome friends!  Sit back, and let me tell you a little bit about myself so we can get to know each other better, as I fully intend on us being best friends before our time together is through.

My name is Jess, I'm a wife and a mama to two little ones who drive me to the brink of insanity in one moment, and then bring me to tears of joy and delight in the next (isn't that the definition of motherhood?!)  I'm the dog mama to two Great Pyrenees Rescues, Ollie and Luna (follow their shenanigans on Instagram at #ollieandlunathepaleopyrs), and a lover of all things FOOD.

Jesus is my homeboy. Fo' reals. (I also like to pretend I'm gangster, but I'm pretty sure if I was really gangster I'd say "gangsta'", right?)

I belt out random songs in my house, fly and screech like pretend pterodactyls with my husband (yes, when the kids aren't even around), love sweatpants, hate the sound of forks and knives scraping together, and am a voracious reader (when I have time).

Educationally, I have a B.S. in Athletic Training (think Sports Medicine/injury evaluation/treatment/rehab/prevention), and a M.S. in Kinesiology (or the study of human movement).  I'm also a state licensed and nationally certified Athletic Trainer, with years of collegiate experience.  In addition to my formal education, I am a CrossFit Level One Trainer, and a former box owner.  You could say I'm passionate about the human body, and keeping it optimally healthy!

So now that you know me in a nutshell, let's talk about why you're here, and why I'M here.  Hold the Space Wellness is something that was created when I dug REAL DEEP ya'll.  I searched my heart and tried to figure out what my passion was, and what I had to offer the world.  I dreamt of a place where deep nutrition, functional movement, and the radical concept of self-care came together with a focus on mamas in every stage of their journey.  I wholeheartedly believe that we, as mamas, cannot pour from an empty cup.  We can't be our best selves without first taking care of US.

So that's why I'm here. To use my background in functional movement and injury, in conjunction with my passion for nutrition and food, to empower others to live a more holistic existence.  Stay tuned for more updates on how I'm expanding my knowledge and services through the pursuit of a holistic nutrition certification and BIRTHFIT coach status.

I want to hold the space for you, sweet friends. I want to walk alongside you in your journey and be PRESENT.  I want to stand firm in my support of you, arming you with gentle wisdom to make the choices that make sense for YOU and no one else.  That's what "holding the space" means to me.  I want you in my TRIBE. My people.  So come in, pull up a chair, and let's be best friends.
