My nutritional philosophy is based on a few foundational concepts. Eat real food. Avoid foods that are inflammatory for you as an individual. For me, this means eating what I call "Paleo-ish." My diet consists mostly of grain-free, dairy-free, legume-free, soy-free, and added sugar-free foods, but I am not dogmatic in these beliefs. I believe one should indulge when the time is right. Food should be easy, budget-friendly, and delicious. And lastly, kick guilt to the curb--eating a varied diet, from animal and plant sources a majority of the time will nourish your body so well. There's no need to dwell on imperfection!
In the near future, as I pursue and complete training to become a Certified Holistic Nutritionist, we will dive even DEEPER into what science says about nutrition. How whole, real foods can nourish and sustain, and especially how nutrition can be a foundational aspect of preparing your body for pregnancy--before, during, and after delivery. Can't wait to share more in the very near future!
